Scott Burr
Scott is a true leader, dedicated professional, and devoted family man. With a 27-year career as a golf instructor and Director of Golf at three premier facilities in Southern California and Germany, he brings a wealth of experience to the court. While still immersed in the golf world, Scott discovered his passion for pickleball—and his competitive drive quickly translated into success.
A decorated player, Scott has earned over 50 medals in professional pickleball, including three National Championships. After a brief hiatus from competition due to COVID and surgeries, he has returned to the pro scene as a member of the National Pickleball League's Coachella Valley Scorpions.
Scott is also the co-founder and lead instructor of Scorpions Pickleball Camps. A gifted coach as well as a player, he has led more than 80 camps, earning consistent praise for his instruction. Prior to launching Scorpions, he served for over seven years as a lead instructor for Engage Pickleball Camps.
Despite his many achievements, Scott remains humble—often crediting his wife as a key partner in his journey and success.
Brian Martin
Brian brings a remarkable blend of leadership, inspiration, and a deep understanding of the athlete’s mindset. A Hall of Fame basketball player, he also has over a decade of coaching experience and 26 years serving as an IT and HR Director. These accomplishments reflect his ability to cultivate high-performing, supportive learning environments where individuals thrive.
His journey into pickleball began with a nudge from his wife, for which he is sincerely grateful. Initially skeptical due to what he considered the sport’s quirky name, Brian was instantly hooked within his first hour on the court. His natural drive for excellence and relentless determination quickly translated into success in the sport.
Brian is a co-founder of Scorpion Pickleball Camps and has represented the Coachella Valley Scorpions in the National Pickleball League. He holds an IPTPA Level II Instructor Certification and is a five-time APPL Regional Champion, including the 2024 State Championship. His passion for the game extends to coaching, where he continues to mentor and elevate others with the same energy and commitment that has defined his career.
Kim Jagd
Every so often, you encounter someone truly exceptional—an individual who holds themselves to the highest standards and approaches every facet of life with discipline, perseverance, and unwavering integrity. Kim Jagd is one of those rare individuals.
Kim’s impressive multi-sport journey began early, earning her a college scholarship and launching a lifelong passion for competition. From tennis & volleyball to golf, and now pickleball, her relentless focus and competitive spirit have consistently placed her at the top of her game. She credits her father as her lifelong sports mentor, while her biggest fan remains her mother, whose pride in Kim has only grown over the years.
With more than 30 years of coaching experience and 18 years as an Assistant Coach with UCLA Volleyball, Kim brings a wealth of knowledge, passion, and leadership to every endeavor. As a professional pickleball player, she continues to compete at the highest level, while also dedicating herself to developing and promoting the sport she loves.
Kim is a proud owner of the Coachella Valley Scorpions, a franchise in the National Pickleball League (NPL), as well as The Scorpion Pickleball Camps. Her impact extends beyond the court—she serves as a board member to the NPL. She also served on the Pickleball Hall of Fame Selection Committee and board for 6 years as well as the USA Pickleball & APP committees.
